Larry Jacobson became the President and CEO of The Jacobson Company in 2012, after serving as an officer of the company and co-general partner of its various partnerships since the early 1990’s. Under Mr. Jacobson, the company expanded its holdings (previously in California only) to Washington, Colorado and Texas. The company also began acquiring student housing, in addition to continuing its focus on conventional multifamily. Mr. Jacobson oversees acquisitions, asset management, financing, and capital improvements, to which he brings a well known reputation for hands on attention to detail. Mr. Jacobson literally started at the ground floor in real estate, managing some of The Jacobson Company’s Los Angeles properties while attending law school. He began his professional career as a real estate attorney at Buchalter Nemer Fields and Younger, where he represented a broad array of both institutional and entrepreneurial clients, including developers, owners/operators of commercial real estate, investor groups, and lenders.
Mr. Jacobson is a licensed real estate broker, CA BRE # 01923090. Beyond his leadership role at The Jacobson Company, he is a committed philanthropist, with a primary emphasis on the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles and his alma mater, the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Jacobson is also a graduate of the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.
